Dancing Shapes

Just remembered today that my next theory module is "reading animation". This made me excited and enthusiastic about animation again.

This animation by Len Lye always reminds me of sitting in The Tate watching videos on loop:



The white line also reminds me of The Soundtrack part of Disney's Fantasia. I watched that again today too on video cassete. Yes I still own a video player.

Apparently the Toccata und Fuge sequence is abstract animation. I tend to disagree and say that it is, at most, semi-abstract; but semi-abstract isn't really actually a thing ... is it?
