Alternative Press Fair II

As I was saying, we visited the Alternative Press Festival in London and there were lots of zines, cider and mysterious train disapperences.

We were helping with our stall for our illustration course, you can find out about what we make here: http://www.pittvillepress.co.uk/
I got a zine for free which said "Josie Long implores you to- Be Honourable! -on tour." which confused me but I think she is a comedian: http://www.justthetonic.com/comedy-tours/josie-long-be-honourable/4/

We also got given The Other Side, which is a free London culture magazine which apparently started out as a very low budget zine. It has some brilliant writing in it. http://www.theothersidemag.co.uk/

Our French friend gave us his website; http://www.thehoochiecoochie.com/

At the end of the festival we recieved free copies of The Comix Reader and I admire the work of Richard Cowdry; who is also the editior. http://www.thecomixreader.com/

I bought a zine from a girl named Sofia (from Sweden) called something like From Dusky Armpits, unfortunately I left it in Essex but I think their website is http://kollasling.blogspot.com/ Also I can't actually understand the website...

Here's some photos!

Alternative Press Fair I

This weekend Tee and I went to The Alternative Press Festival in London. Was pretty cool and a little unexpected since it was quite small but very packed. I felt quite out of place seeing as most sellers were comic artists or properly into making zines and things. I only sold one of my own mini-zines.
However, we got to meet some really interesting people and drink a lot of cider and Pimms.

Also our train mysteriously vanished.
We still don't understand what happened there.

Check back soon for links, pictures and photographs =D

Crazy Late Night Snacks

Got up at 3am last night to make some banana curry.
It was actually quite nice, so I'm recording the recipe XD

  • Melt olive spread (or marg or butter) in frying pan
  • Fry sliced banana and add few pinches of curry powder
  • Pour on some milk (I used semi-skimmed) and add about a teaspoon of honey (for 2 smallish bananas)
  • Let it reduce a bit and so that the banana mushes into the sauce
  • Serve and eat. You might want to have a bit of bread or something with it or just eat with a spoon.
I dare you to try it out and come back to me with whether I am actually crazy or not.
